First of all, you need to decide what type of floor you want to lay. For laminate and wood flooring, the underlays from the SELITAC product line are the right choice. If you opt for click vinyl, you should use an underlay from the SELITBLOC product line. Both systems are precisely tailored to the respective requirements of the floor coverings and ensure safe and durable installation.

The next step is to consider the substrate. Moisture protection is essential on mineral substrates such as screed, concrete or tiles. Residual building moisture can occur in new buildings as well as in older or renovated buildings and cause permanent damage to the floor covering. Combination products from SELITAC or SELITBLOC, which are marked with a ‘+’ and have integrated moisture protection, are suitable for this application. Alternatively, you can use the underlays without integrated moisture protection and install it separately with a SELITplus vapour barrier. However, moisture protection must not be used on wooden substrates such as old floorboards. Wood has a natural moisture content that must be able to diffuse. In this case, use SELITAC or SELITBLOC underlays from the pro, eco or basic series without ‘+’. The use of moisture protection films on wooden substrates can hinder diffusion and increase the risk of mould growth.

Finally, select the appropriate quality level. The pro series offers maximum performance values, for example in terms of pressure stability, impact sound reduction and load capacity, and is particularly suitable for heavily used areas or high-quality floor coverings. The eco series represents a balanced compromise between performance and sustainability. The basic series is the economical solution for basic requirements.
