As an elastic layer under a floor covering such as laminate, parquet, or LVT, underlays improve the properties of the floor and protect it from damage. This includes protection against loads as well as a reduction in walking and impact sound. Depending on the flooring system, an underlay can also improve thermal insulation and increase walking comfort.
